Technical Project Manager
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and driven Technical Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of project management methodologies, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery within budget and scope. As a Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing project timelines, coordinating resources, identifying risks, and communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Technical Project Manager or in a similar role within a software or technology company.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
- Proficient in project management tools such as Jira, Trello, Monday.com, or similar.
- Experience in managing software development projects, cloud infrastructure, or IT-related initiatives.
- Strong technical background and ability to understand technical challenges, programming languages, and development tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate risks.
Roles and Responsibilities
Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
- Manage project lifecycle from initiation to closure, ensuring all deliverables are met within scope, time, and cost constraints.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, designers, and business analysts, to ensure alignment and progress.
- Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, issues, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Prepare project status reports and present updates during team meetings and executive briefings.
- Lead and motivate project teams to achieve high levels of performance and quality.
- Facilitate meetings, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings for Agile projects.
- Solve complex problems by working with technical teams to identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Ensure issues are escalated in a timely manner and corrective actions are implemented effectively.
- Monitor project budgets and resources, ensuring cost-effective management and allocation.
- Work with resource managers to secure necessary resources and manage resource conflicts.
- Ensure projects remain within financial guidelines and report on budgetary status regularly.
- Ensure projects are delivered to a high standard of quality, meeting the technical and functional requirements of stakeholders.
- Drive improvements in team workflows, communication, and project delivery processes.
